'Simpsons' wins Best Comedy Film
Bart Simpson, that 'doh!' boy, beat out Simon Pegg ('Hot Fuzz') and Sacha Baron Cohen ('Borat') as 'The Simpsons Movie' took Best Comedy Film at last night's British Comedy Awards. The awards show, in its 18th year, went on in London as scheduled, but without the televised support of its traditional home ITV, which cancelled the airing over a dispute about telephone voting. Host Jonathan Ross ended the show with a joke at ITV's expense: 'If you're watching at home, it's only because someone at the back recorded it on their phone and put it on YouTube.'
Also that night, Best International Show went to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' Presenters Stephen Mangan and Jennifer Coolidge joked that Larry David "is far to wealthy and curmudgeonly to come over to London to collect it.

What we were surprised about was how the British Comedy Awards overlooked their own "Hot Fuzz". Guess Simon Pegg's not a favorite son. We're big fans and just know he'll be great in the new "Star Trek."
