Molly Shannon in Year of the Dog 

Molly Shannon stars in this quirky-but-sweet comedy about a "nice" girl who baffles, and then alarms, her friends, family and co-workers when her dog dies.  Follow Molly on her journey from grief to final, albeit unconventional, acceptance of herself.  Written, directed and produced by Mike White (School of Rock, The Good Girl), this film also features excellent performances by Peter Saarsgard, Regina King, John C. Reilly, and Laura Dern.  Year of the Dog was nominated for Best Screenplay by The Independent Spirit Awards, and for Best Indie Comedy Screenplay by The Find the Funny Awards.
